i485 questions (parent green card) (merged)

Hi,

 

I am applying green card for my father. I would like to pay with check. Since my father doesn't have bank account here, can I pay use my personal check for all the fees?

 

USCIS website mentioed "please use personal check with your name and phone number printed". 

 

If not, what is the suggested payment method?

Hi, I have a further question for form485, Part3, Q1 "Have you ever applied for an immigrant visa to obtain permanent resident status at a U.S. Embassy of U.S. Consulate abroad".

 

My uncle filed I130 petition for my father 10 years ago. Now the case is in NVC. I am current apply green card for my father. Should I answer YES or NO for that question?

 

Also for I-485, for my father's employment history, if my father retired for more than 5 years, can I just put "Retired" in employment history? Thanks!

Would you mind keeping all related i485/i130 questions to one thread. You have several threads going, and it gets confusing as member have to go back and forth to provide a well-informed response. Besides, duplicate threads are messy.

Thanks for the suggestion. However they are different questions for different forms. Also in each of the new thread, I tried provide enough information to avoid confusion.
