Had a doctor's appointment today...

...I don't know. All this stuff has been going on and I've been feeling *really* rough between the back and stomach issues. Today I went to the doctor (they had called me) and he said I have elevated liver enzymes. I have almost all symptoms of viral hepititis, (low grade fever for over 3 weeks...99/100, bad headaches, etc. etc.) so he wants me tested for that, (draw blood again...that and other tests) and then I have to get a CT scan of my entire belly and pelvic region. WIll be coming up soon, so I'll let you know for those of you that are interested. I feel really crappy tonight. For the same few weeks I mentioned above I've had a really scratchy throat too...I dunno. Just feel rough and wanted to whine...I guess I've done that enough about my health here lately, but I appreciate the encouraging thoughts/words I suppose. I think I've mentioned it already, but I did have the gall bladder ultrasound and I had no gall stones. They haven't done the "fatty injection" test (whatever it's called) yet, and not sure if they will or not. Guess he wants to get right on this liver business first.

I went to the back doctor at the pain clinic as well (I try to schedule them the same day as they are in different parts of the same large building) and he is at a total loss. He upped me to 3 vicodin a day (which I don't take unless I need to, but have had to take them increasingly often lately...2 a day, together, up to now.) and wants me to consult with a surgeon now. The same doctor that performed my Mom's surgeries is the one I will be seeing...and he is very good...but I do *NOT* want surgery unless it is an absolute last resort. I've tried chiropractic (which is great for neck/shoulders for me, but has done *nothing* for this.) and physical therapy, blah blah blah. I know the weight loss will help relieve it a great deal (the loss I'm going to be having!) but the weight is not the main issue. My bottom disk is severly protracted out the backside and the next one up is very, very thin ..it has a degenerated. One of my disks (not sure which one, tbh!) has a tear in it, which can cause a great deal of pain as well, he said. So. *sigh* That's where I'm at.

Nothing serious, I imagine, but plenty painful, so I would appreciate you keeping me in your thoughts. I just want all this ####### to go away. At least my honey is here to cuddle me through it...thanks all. (F) M.

Sorry to hear of these ongoing health issues for you (F) At least the doctor seems to be on the ball and is testing you and trying to get to the bottom of things, which is good!! Even tho its no fun for you!

I can relate a bit on the back issue, well its not my back but my neck. I had 2 cervical fusions done last nov. I am healing but have been having awful pain ect, saw the doctor and he told me i tweaked the disc above my fusion :blink: Just what i wanted to hear.. NOT!! Anywho, i start PT thursday and he thinks it should help me.
