Now that I have the case number (k-1)...

Our case was assigned the case number on April 29. YayYay!!

We are applying for a k1 Visa. Now that we have the case number,  are we able to fill out the DS-160 to get our fee paid and make our interview?? Or do we need to wait for it to send and get our welcome packet?

Thanks,

Michelle

Case number from USCIS or NVC

If the former, you’ve got some waiting.

If the later, I believe you have to wait until instructions from the Embassy (at least, I had to in 2016).

We have been issued a case number at the NVC. I was reading a blog that said once you have the case number and invoice number, you can go ahead and pay your fees to get things moving a little faster.

Depends on the status at NVC. If the status at NVC says "ready"; I I would suggest that you fill out DS-160 pay the fee and proceed to schedule an interview.  Getting an interview in Mumbai embassy is currently taking a toll on us because we have not been able to find any available appointments.

Martha, yes, I am worried about that. Right now it says "at nvc". It will change to "ready" at some point before it ships??

When it ships it changes to "in transit".  When it is at the embassy and they are ready, it changes to "ready "

Hi guys

When can we take a medical exam? Is it after the embassy receives the petition from NVC or should we wait from them to send instructions? I’ve heard that Mumbai Embassy doesn’t send out the packet 4 and rather they have all the information on their website to undergo a medical exam.

Please help
