IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

I130/ CR Visa1

my interview!

Hi,

I filed my i130 visa petition for my wife who lives oversaes. On July, 2017 my petition was accepted at Potomac SC for processing. On march 2018 i got a letter to come for interview with any evidence and my date was for interview April, 10 2019.

I had an interview this morning and everything was i guess smooth. I answered all my questions and the officer was in good mood.

I want to know how long would it take to response because she was reviewing my documents. Please i would really appreciate in thanks in advance for your response.

Yes if they have any doubt then they can call you for the interview.  Now it is happening more ofter to call the petitioner for the interview as well.

this for sure is the first I have heard that a petitioner has been contacted to do an interview inside USA, unless there was something that missed on the paperwork.

to answer your original question, I am not sure anyone can tell you the length of time because again this is not something that is often heard about.

Well it isn't the first time I have read something abt this on this site.. I don't think it takes too much time since they are already reviewing your documents/file, hopefully you get an approval within the next 30 days. Good luck.

I got an approval letter today.

Yes it happens but rarely... If USCIS feels the marriage isn't bonafide they might call in the petitioner for a face to face interview, after that they might either approve or deny the petition...which in his case was approve..

Yes, it happened to my case I-130. I was called for an interview, and a day later approved my petition. My case came from Potomac Service Center, and I know quite a few people have to go through the same process.
