Paying for the MRV fee (cash only?)

Hi guys,

I apologize if this is country specific, but I’m not sure if everything is this way now. My fiancée and I have been approved, have the NVC number, completed the DS-160 and are now ready to schedule the appointment. Now I know that certain embassies are in high demand (Ciudad Juarez, Mexico in this case). Right now it says that no appointments are available. So, just like a concert ticket, that implies to me that I need to pounce on a date as soon as one opens up. However, for the methods of payment, it does not list a credit card as an option. So, from what I understand, I need to pay the fee in cash at an authorized bank, receive a receipt number and use that. However, since these appointments are in high demand, I don’t want to suddenly find an open date then be confronted with the next step telling me how to pay - because that will prevent me from completing the scheduling because I won’t be able to put in the receipt number at that the specific moment. So, is it possible to pay in advance and have the receipt number ready to go at a moment’s notice? Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks!

Yes you pay in advance before you can schedule an appointment.

Thank you. That website doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Do you know if it’s possible to pay with a credit card (or does that vary by country)? The frustrating thing is I literally cannot seen how to enter the payment details/requirements without being to able to select a date for the interview.

I have, and my attempts to pay only lead me to this website: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/niv/information/fee

I cannot arrive at that payment page which presumably gives me the specifics on how to pay and continue with the flow.

For reference, this is where I hit th roadblock in the flow (screenshot attached). The dropdown menu just lists the places and states that there are no interviews available.

Hi guys - I actually have not found a solution for this. I have called (and emailed) but have received no real help. Does anyone have any experience with this?
