Hey everyone! ☺️

We are currently in the process of filling in forms I-130 and I-130A. Some possibly relevant background information: my husband (American) and I (Finnish) currently live in Finland, but my husband is going to move back to the US soon. I have tried to look for information online and have also contacted USCIS, but the questions keep coming! I thought I would come here for help and for moral support.

Questions:

  • Finland has no provinces. Do we just write 'Not applicable'?
  • I am currently a full-time student, is that something I can write in the occupation part?
  • In additional information, how do I name the item numbers for addresses and employment history? What I did was to list all of the information (street address, postal code, country, dates from/to) in the same text box and then moved on to the next text box for the next address. Is that okay?
  • How can I add my country code to the telephone number field?
  • I ran out of space on the additional information page. Could I just print that page again?
  • In I-130A, it says to give your last physical address outside of the US of more than one year. I recently moved, so should I put my previous address (lived there for 2 years)?
  • No special characters, right? (ä, ö)

Thank you so much for any help and advice you could offer! I am so glad a platform like VisaJourney exists, we feel less alone in this when reading about other people's experiences.

Yes

  • I am currently a full-time student, is that something I can write in the occupation part?

Yes

  • In additional information, how do I name the item numbers for addresses and employment history? What I did was to list all of the information (street address, postal code, country, dates from/to) in the same text box and then moved on to the next text box for the next address. Is that okay?

I think so

  • How can I add my country code to the telephone number field?

I tried entering my wife's old international phone number in the cell and had no issues.

  • I ran out of space on the additional information page. Could I just print that page again?

I think so.

  • In I-130A, it says to give your last physical address outside of the US of more than one year. I recently moved, so should I put my previous address (lived there for 2 years)?

Not sure

  • No special characters, right? (ä, ö)

Correct
