PD current but case not approved yet

Hey guys I have question, what happens when the priority date is current but the USCIS hasn't approved the case yet? Priority date is December 9, 2016. The beneficiary is overseas.

it's way past approval date, outside of the norm,  you should find out what's going on

Thanks for your reply. We submitted a case inquiry and received a generic message basically saying they are working on it but when I check the status online it still says "case received". Like nobody hasn't even touched it yet.

speak with a tier 2 officer, plus you should get your senators involved and find out what's going on
