K1 visa error

Would I be able to contact the uscis to make changes regarding on my k1 visa application? I accidentally put YES instead of NO in (#37. Has your beneficiary ever been in the united states )

You can’t make any changes now that you sent the i129f petition (not k1 visa yet, that’s when your petition is approved and you beneficiary can apply for the visa at a consulate/ embassy in their foreign country). I know they can fix names and such but not answers. At this point you can possibly get a rfe to rectify, but hard to say.

You can send in a supplement to the address in your NOA1, I did this and didn’t get an RFE for 2 fields I forgot to answer. Send a cover letter explaining what field was accidentally checked, explain that it’s actually ‘no’ and include a new page from the I-129f filled in correctly. The cover letter needs to include your case number, petitioner name and date of birth, beneficiary name and date of birth, receipt date.

Thank you. This will helps me a lot. Is the receipt date is when they received the application or the case number?

No problem, the receipt date is the NOA1 date (on your NOA1).

I’m sorry but I am confused on which of them is it. Is it the notice date? Received date or the receipt number?

You can try the above, but don't assume that your additional information will ever catch up with your file.

You can correct it if you receive an RFE (about this issue or another).

It’s the received date that is on your NOA1. Also as above, it’s a bit of luck whether the supplement ends up being added to your file or not. I also forgot to mention, it’s good to date and sign the cover letter.
