Valid vaccination records is anything your civil surgeon will accept. I had printouts from my school in Canada (not certified in any way, and truthfully, nothing I couldn't have printed out myself). Maybe another civil surgeon would disagree, but I believe it's unlikely. If you have a receipt from a US business that did it recently, there can be zero issues as long as the business is legitimate--they could always call and confirm.

So yes, if you bring proof, you're good with $195. I'm just not sure which vaccinations you actually would need, since the CDC website differentiates between "definitely need" and "maybe need". I still don't know which ones are genuinely required, which is why I'd ask the office.

Maybe, probably, who knows. Ask the civil surgeon what they accept.

https://www.costco.com/Pharmacy/adult-immunization-program.html check this out.

And for the rest: https://m.goodrx.com/mmr and confirm which place offers what, and and at what price. Guaranteed cheaper than the above, at least somewhat.

  • Mumps

  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and diphtheria
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)
  • Hepatitis A

this is what is required as of this moment.

I have evidence for Hepatitis A,B & polio, tetanus and diphtheria. Perhaps I’m getting some other evidence from another past doctor.

Thanks for your help, greatly appreciate it.

Most of those are not age appropriate for an adult, and are therefore not required.

For someone ages 18-64, all that is required is Tdap, MMR, Varicella (only if you haven't had chicken pox), and Influenza (if in flu season).

You DO NOT NEED the following, as they are not age appropriate.

Polio

Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

Rotavirus

Meningococcal disease

Pneumococcal disease

So this is the list from a civil surgeon? Good to know.

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella

Get the MMR, it will only make you stronger  :)

  • Tetanus and diphtheria
  • Pertussis

Since you have TD and no P, you'll need to get TDAP. You could technically get just the pertussis vaccine, but I don't know where you'll find one. Just get TDAP. You need one every 10 years anyway.

The rest, with the exception of Hep A and B, it looks like you'll have to get per whatever is required, which is probably not all of those. Look for local grocery store pharmacies including Walmart, regular pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, etc), then walk-in clinics, in that order, to minimize cost. Put the PHD prices where they fit in that hierarchy.

Dear VisaJourney Members,

I have just recently received a letter of courtesy for my I-693 which I didn’t do yet. My status has recently also changed to case scheduled for interview - so I’m getting to the point where I want to get this stuff completed and taken care of.

I have a few questions/concerns around which I’m a little confused.

-Can I go to a Civil Surgeon and have them tell me which Vaccines I still need to take after a blood test with them? I lost my immunization record, but am getting documents from old doctors for a few vaccines. My hope is to take as little as possible.

-Or do I figure out myself which vaccines I have to take and take them before my appointment with a Civil Surgeon?

-If I have my interview scheduled for sometime in the next 4-6 weeks, will this give me enough time to complete the required vaccines?

-Can I get the vaccines after the meeting with the CV elsewhere for a cheaper cost and then come back?

Im trying to find the best and fastest process now to get this thing sorted out before our interview. Tomorrow I’m going to look and call up some affordable CVs.

Answers to my Qs and extra tips would be greatly welcome and appreciated!

Thanks,

Henri

Keep in mind that you can't just use any doctor, you have to use one from the list USCIS provides. This is what the I-693 instructions say:

A list of the designated civil surgeons in your area is also available at www.uscis.gov. (Select “TOOLS,” choose “Find a civil surgeon,” enter your ZIP Code, and click “Find civil surgeons.”)

Other then that you already got all your answers, good luck at your interview! :)
