It means that you are no longer in the "immigrant " classification and you are reclassified as a "non-immigrant" class. So at ceac, change your choice to non-immigrant and you'll have your status. This is normal. Funny thing is when its ask if something is normal it usually is.

@Greenbaum, even though I wish it was the case I’m not sure how correct that is as ours  has been showing this status for the last two weeks but still has to search under” immigrant”status in ceac

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued". Each case and embassy can process differently. Your mileage may vary.

@AAAA27, it’s very unfortunate that we three became the first group( previous posts that went thru Mumbai embassy had all gotten their visa in 10-15 days of passport submission) of people who has been waiting for this long to hear anything back after submitting passport . No idea what’s gng on .

@AAAA27 @ujones It would be very nice to know why our cases are taking a longer period of time to be approved, whereas people who interviewed after us and still had to submit additional information, are getting approved before us. So much for doing things in order of it being received. I'm sure it's a question that will never be answered.

@Tara & Rohit @ujones  My interview was on the the 29th of March and  my passport has been with them since April 9th. Technically, its the 11th business day.

Where are you seeing that other folks have gotten their visa?

@AAAA27😉seems like you won’t qualify enough to be in our club then ... 😂. If you read bk in this thread there are a few who went thru similar situation but almost all  of them got it cleared within 10-15 days of submitting passport

Hahaha I needed that laugh today! For the sake of my sanity I hope that you are right, but it would have been great if none of us were in that club :)
