It's risky. Look up people who have been denied for being "too married" due to just an engagement ceremony, let alone a religious wedding. There's plenty of cases you'll find on this site.

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

I strongly recommend just getting married and then file the spousal visa.  It is truly very risky to waste a year of K-1 just to be denied at or after the interview.  That is way to common and it really takes much less than a church wedding to be denied.  

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

 

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

 

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Any serious engagement parties (fancy dress up, and all) and ceremonies, regardless of just for family or religious purposes, run the risk of causing a denial in the K-1 process, and won't even get the denial until interview stage most likely, so after waiting for months and months and spending money. 

 

Don't do it. Simple. Plan to go back home later after you marry in the US and get AP or green card after AOS'ing.

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

I am sorry but your talking out both sides, you said you plan on doing it, but then you say its already marriage in church, what is it??

 

if you have already married in church you might as well make it legal in the eyes of the embassy you are too married for a K1 but not married enough for a CR1

 

If you have NOT done it DO NOT DO IT!!!
