Are Biometrics & Interview at same location?

My husband Chris is Canadian and we just submitted his N400 on 1/5/2019.  We just got the Biometrics appointment notification, and it's scheduled for 1/28/19, and oddly it's at the Philadelphia USCIS location.  We live in Cherry Hill, NJ, and the Mount Laurel USCIS location is closer, so we were surprised that the biometrics appointment is in Philly.

Does this mean the Interview and Oath would also be at the Philly location?  Or do the biometrics and interview happen at different locations?

It's not a problem transportation-wise or anything, but when we thought everything would go through the Mount Laurel office we had been researching the experiences people had there.  The oath ceremonies there happen every day, and you'd take the oath the same day as your interview (unless there are any delays to your approval).  Which, if you want your loved ones to be present is a good thing to know ahead of time.

How do you think we ended up being processed through the Philly branch vs. the Mount Laurel, NJ one?  Everything I saw online said you'd be processed through the branch closest to your residence.  Is there a backlog at Mount Laurel that's getting shifted over to Philly?

Philly Branch will be your local office , When I  apply online , I got automatically Transfer to my local office in Jacksonville  even tho Jacksonville is like 2 hours drive from my town , so I have to deal with it I got letter in mail but , i did apply online anyways . this is how i end-up with local office tho online application .

Good luck

Our ASC was in Philadelphia but a different building/area than the USCIS field office building. So it is possible to be at separate locations...although I would kinda expect yours to be closer to the interviewing office.

Anyway, to directly answer the question:

The ASC (where yo do biometrics) and USCIS field office (where you interview) can be separate locations.

Geowrian, do you mean different USCIS buildings in the same town (Philadelphia), or do you mean different towns altogether (Philly and Mount Laurel)?

In my case, the ASC was in Philadelphia in one building. Our field office is also with Philadelphia, but a different building.

I live in Cherry Hill, NJ too. I was naturalized February 2015. My Biometrics at the Philadelphia Office. Was interviewed @ local office in Mt. Laurel, NJ so more likely you'll have the interview there too. My 4 cousins did the same thing too last year.

Sounds like Philly is the ASC for that field office as well. That is the case with a number of field offices sharing an ASC. Thanks for the info.
