Hello,

Ive been following visa-connection pretty closely, but I have a question about my phone call yesterday to the NVC.

the person said they got out case in ‘this morning’ but I would have to call back in a few weeks to get the number? If I remember right, I’ve read that i should just keep calling even though they said that because sometimes you will get a bad rep.

Did you submit an inquiry via asknvc?  Better than sitting on the phone every few days.  Btw,  your case number will be assigned by Wednesday next week which is when the next shipment to the embassy will occur

YMMV

It may take a week or two to get your case number. However, you will not get a "bad rep" for calling. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying you should call every day (tempting as it may be). I called once a week. The first week I found out they received my case, next week I got my case number... now waiting for the shipment which should be notified via email.

Email NVC ... they will reply with the MNL#  when it is available .. then the NVC email can be used by your fiancee to compete the medical.    <  I did this route rather than calling continually .. it works.

Did you do a happy dance!!

Did you get an email/letter or call to get the MNL# ?    Hoping you got an email/letter as you can forward that to your fiancee for the medical.

You can do the medical anytime.   Just remember that the visa expiration is 6 mos after the day of the medical

SLEC is asking for copies of the letter with case number  (<< This SLEC wants for sure)  AND interview appointment confirmation      ( if you have it.. which means you can complete the medical without scheduling the interview)         Once you can proved the 1st document you can complete the medical whenever you choose.

  1. K VISA APPLICANTS
  2. EACH APPLICANT MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING:

    1. Valid passport
    2. 1 photocopy of Passport Biographic/Data Page, the page in the passport that contains the applicant's photo and information. Photocopy on short bond paper. Passport photocopy should be the same size as the original, not enlarged or reduced.
    3. 4 pieces recent 2"x2" visa photos (see visa photo guide), 3 for submission to the U.S. Embassy, 1 for clinic file. ALL PHOTOS MUST BE IDENTICAL. Write the applicant's complete name at the back of each photo.

The US Embassy requires you to bring the 2x2 photos for your visa issuance. We regret not to release the medical report until such time that you can provide this requirement.
    4. Letter with Case Number

      • Principal Applicant - original & 1 photocopy
      • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each

If Letter of Case Number was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

  1. Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the U.S. Embassy , if available

    • Principal Applicant - original & 2 photocopies
    • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each
If Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

Alright, I am having my fiancee Mercy and her daughter go to get their pictures taken (headshot) and get new 2x2's. I told her to get 4 copies/originals of each
