I am expecting to get NOA2 in the next month. Hopefully, any Irish members who have just gone past that stage could answer my question.

How long should I expect it to take to get my medical in the Mater Hospital and the interview at the US embassy?

Thanks.

We've hit a little hiccup after the medical. Apparently the radiologist was on an extended vacation, and was unable to approve the results in the normal 7-10 days. Took 18 days to get results back. And all the Feb. interview dates filled up moments before we got our results. Thanks for the extra 8 day wait! We're not delayed 6 more weeks cause of it...............

Why is there only 1 doctor approved to do these medicals? And if they go on vacation, shouldn't someone fill in for them? IDK....seems like we're getting the run around.

Anyway, all Feb. appointment dates are filled so we have to wait for March dates to become available. We submitted out Packet 3 in December. This is infuriating as we have been 100% on time and 100% accurate with EVERYTHING, and now we are delayed all this time due to a doctor vacation....

I'm so sorry to hear that. That is extremely frustrating when something gets delayed like that and it's not your fault! We just got NOA2 last week so I was hoping to do the interview in March too. I hope this doesn't cause a dragged out backlog now!

Just secured our March 5th appointment a few hours ago.

Minutes after physically collecting my medical, I got the notification to schedule the interview.

Turns out there was a cancelation (no clue how you could get 8 months in this process to then cancel...), but our interview was just moved to Feb 5 :)

That's great news. So soon! How did got manage to get the cancelled time?? Did you tell them to contact you if something like that happened?

No idea. My best guess is we were the first  on the list for March, so when there was a cancelation, we would have been first in line.

They called and asked if my fiancé would be available to interview a month earlier, confirmed she still lived in Ireland and not DUBAI (where we met), and she confirmed the appointment. We got an email with confirmation of change a few minutes after the phone call.

Hey,

we submitted our notice of readiness the other day, do you remember how long it took for them to get back to you?

We sent the Notification on a Friday because we knew the medical results were available to collect Monday. We received the email with our interview date minutes after collecting the medical.

Since I’ve posted and your comment I got my appointment for the 5th also. See you there!

Hi everyone, to any of you who have done your medical at the Mater, can you schedule once you have your case number from the NVC and paid your DS160 fees or do you have to wait until you have a letter from the embassy?

You can make the appointment with just the NVC case number. I emailed the last Wednesday and they gave me an appointment for this Friday. They will get you to respond to the email with some basic information including the case number.
