Panic

hi all

i have my interview tomorrow in Milwaukee and realized when reviewing the paperwork this morning that I put the wrong marriage date in (off by 4 days). We have been married 13 years.

i am panicked! I think I am mostly prepared otherwise and have

- 3 years tax returns

- birth certificate for two kids with us listed as parents

- real estate tax invoices with both of us listed (two properties)

- mortgage statements

- 3 months of joint bank account statement

-permanent resident card

- passports old and new

- husbands birth certificate and passport

- my birth certificate

So I am worried .. I don’t even have so much as a speeding ticket ... also when I was going through my file I realized that I had includd my marriage license not my certificate and can’tat my hands on the certificate.

can anyone weigh in on whether I might have a problem? I have been here 13 years so not sure if that is also a consideration

The only problem that I see is you freaking out over nothing. Tell the officer at your interview that you got the date wrong, and all is good.

I also want to bet you that, aside from your Green Card and your passport, the officer won’t even look at all those documents you’ve assembled, because you’ve been in the country for so long and could’ve filed under 5 year rule (maybe you even did)

Relax and get ready to become a citizen.

Thanks coloradoman... I DID file under the five year but they asked for marriage certificate anyway... your message calmed me down

I filed under 5 year rule as well, and I became a citizen 2 weeks ago. I did upload my marriage and divorce certificates with my application as well, but the interview letter only asked for GC and passport. And that’s all the officer wanted to see in my interview.

Thanks all! Stopping back in to let you know I was approved!

Also for those relying on your account for updates - mine did say estimated completion November 2019 up until a couple of days before my interview. It took ages for them to post that my interview was scheduled.

Congrats. Can you share you experience? Please. When did you apply? Did you correct your mistake before the interview start or when they go over your form? Did you mention your speeding ticket? Thank you and congrats z
