Yes, thats the plan. We're planning on staying there till we get the passport back. What do you mean by AP?

Administrative Processing... All visas go into AP after the interview. The time period is typically short, but sometimes not. The chances probably wouldn't be high that they'd keep your passport and THEN find out they need to process further, but just to be safe I'd say have the passport sent to home. Also, imagine if there is another postal strike, or any other outside situation that could delay the mailing in MTL.

Also I'll note since you're PR and not citizen... lots of stories on here about PRs who get stuck in very long AP in Montreal.

I can only answer the first part... I have currently been waiting 2 weeks for my P4 to arrive (Sent in P3 on the 14th and got confirmation that they received it on the 16th)
But it says on the hard copy of the P3 to:

Hi EdmoAm,

thanks for the response! I received my P4 today in my email & got an interview date of March 6th. Phewwww was so nervous it would go past my expiry of March 8th!  Hoping you get your P4 soon as well!!

Guys I checked and tracked our case and it was last updated today. But when I checked my email there's no request yet for packet 3. Does that mean I can now send packet 3 to the embassy?

If you didn't do anything to trigger it, like send them a request, then P3 was probably mailed out. It doesn't seem like they have really been sending P3 e-mails lately, just snail mail. You can try to send P3 in, but still might get the "wait" reply.

It took our P3 somewhere between 3-4 weeks from when the consulate received our case to get to us. I bet yours will come next week!

When was the last date your case was updated?

I think we are next tbqh, but i'm just getting impatient & tres fussy...lol I'll be okay. I just need to refocus on the bigger picture. They emailed me back three days after i tried to send in p3 on the 25th of Jan. I figured i'd giver a go... like all of us, its very hard to plan ahead flights, hotel, time off work with very little notice. We'll make this work but communication for a general window of time would help relieve some of us..

Thank you for the kind words of support, you and everyone. x

I didn't do anything to trigger it because the last time was january 22 when they replied to my inquiry for updating my email address. I'll try to send them my packet 3 and will update here.. :)

Yeah, it is frustrating alright. Especially given in ALL OF GIANT CANADA there is only one office. Cross-country travel, and just booking in general, ain't cheap with 3 weeks notice 😢 Got my fingers crossed for you! Hey, it's still early today... anything could happen :)

Our case was updated today too! I haven’t gotten the P3 email either, but I sent them the information anyway since I figured it was worth a shot. If anything, I’ll just have to send it again once I get P3 (via mail or email).

I know, I feel the same! Was your case updated this morning? Mine was, so I sent P3 in again...I figured might as well. I also tried sending P3 on the 22nd and got that same email back on the 25th...so, hopefully now is our turn!

I agree with the communication; a general time frame would be super helpful for booking time off work, flights, hotels, etc. We'll get there soon!! :)
