Hello everyone!

First of all, this forum is amazing!! Thank you everyone for keeping us updated on your case status and experiences!!! It truly helps.

So I am also adjusting my status based on marriage. My pd is aug 3rd, 2018 so 123 days now since filing. I filed for expedite request based on severe financial loss on Nov 6th sent proof the next day and received an email on Nov 8th from USCIS saying they had received the documentation and a decision would be made shortly. I contacted senator, congressman and ombudsman and received emails both from senator and congressman around Nov 19th saying my case had been routed for expedite processing correctly. So what now?  It’s going to be a month since I requested the expedite but haven’t seen any changes in my status. Any thoughts??? Does it usually take this long??? Any help is much appreciated. God Bless.

I requested an expedite 10/31, faxed info on 11/19 and just got notification a few minutes ago that the EAD has been mailed.

Do you check your status online with the USCIS case tracker?  If you make an account, you can add your case numbers and look under "case history" to see what's happening.

Congrats @Unshakable Faith!!! Yes, that’s all I do check my status online and it keeps saying case received :(  The case history did change when I made the request and sent the fax with proof.

Did you get the senator or congressman involved?

No.   They've been involved since the beginning of my case back in 2015 so I wasn't going to bother them with an expedite lol

Ah thanks. It's good to know that you get it expedited in a regular way. I'm worrying not getting the EAD before starting day. :(

You just call USCIS and request an expedite but you have to meet certain expedite criteria which you can find on USCIS website.   Be prepared because they will ask for proof that you meet the criteria.

Don’t we all have only one reason: severe financial loss?
