Bringing backpack into embassy- london

Hi 😀 my husband has his interview on 11/28 and he's wondering if he can bring a medium sized backpack into the embassy? It'll also have a cell phone charger inside because he's staying in london overnight. I know each embassy has different rules so I'd love to hear if anyone going through london knows.  Thank you!

Pretty sure the general rule is consider it like a carry-on on a plane.

When was he able to book the interview? I’m attempting to do it now my visa is in transit but it won’t let me. Complete ds160 and medicalb

OP's husband is doing IR-1/CR-1 NOT K-1. The embassy gives different instructions:

He had his interview today and was approved pending his medical results. Was able to bring his bag etc in no problem and said it was a lot less stressful than he thought 😂😂
