We sent our application on October 9, the check was cashed on October 17. Now, we still haven't gotten any response.

Is it normal not to get an email or text notifying us that they get our submission? Also, they said it may take one month before we get the packet containing NOA1, but we still have not gotten it.

How long it did take for you before you receive your NOA1?

right now 6-8 months seems to be average. this time last year it was closer to 10 months. couple of years ago, just a few months.

it changes and rapidly sometimes.

There is no NOA1 packet. Just a letter. If you got the letter you wont hear anything else until RFE or NOA2.

NOA1 comes usually within a few weeks after filing, but sometimes it takes a bit longer

Yes, they did. Yeah, I'll call them tomorrow since they are not open on weekends. I'm just a little anxious because from what I gathered, people get theirs after 2 weeks and that they got an email confirming the submission.

Yes, I believe so... I'll just call them tomorrow and also swing by the post office.

Sorry, I read it as November first!

I see it was in October.

No reason to drive by any office you can't just do that.

You can try and give them a call to see if they have shipped it out or if they can give you your case number so you can follow your case online.

Hi you are the second person I’ve seen with this issue, so seems like something might be happening at USCIS.

consider joining the October I-129F filers forum (

I hope everything works out, if they’ve cashed your check all is fine, just sucks no case number. Double check your address was correct on the I-129F submission and then give USCIS a call (earlier the better).

I will call them as soon as they open their line. I checked the local post office (in my town, our snail mails have to be picked up) and they still haven't gotten my letter. I doubt I will get any :/

My fiance is still off the grid because of his work, but I saw on one of the threads that some people actually don't get theirs but the case number is noted on the bank transaction, I will ask him to check it once he's back. Thanks for the reply!
