Well... already two weeks after I got the e-mail saying, "On May 3, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved ...."

So where are they? :clock: I am really worried because I know that my fiancee will have her interview in a month or so based on how the timeline is going (things are going quickly) and it can take 3 weeks to mail it to her. I guess I could use the $250 dollar FedEx or UPS or DHL service if it gets too close. It is also crappy because she lives out in the country, and basically her father knows someone at the post office in the closest town and she calls him whenever I send her something. So I don't even know if FedEx or whatever is an option. I wanted to use Global Express from the USPS which they say a 3-5 day in a perfect world... comes out to like 1 1/2 weeks in real-time.

Anyway. I'm all ears for that first person to shout that they have their NOA2 in hand.

The NOA2 is not required for the interview. You can go ahead and send her what she does need (I-134 and supporting documentation) while waiting for the NOA2.

Hey! Thanks so much. Reason I was quite worried is that I read you needed to have the original NOA2 at the interview. I'll get my I-134 notarized today and make doubles of everything and submit my nice BIG notebook today that has all the papers, photos, boarding passes... everything!

Thanks again.

Our approval has been sent May 4th, and we got it in the mail May 16th. So it took 12 days... which is better than NOA1, which took them 14 days...

as it seems it's not required at the interview, don't worry now for that, anc concentrate on the papers needing to be sent. And good luck at the interview

PS As for UPS or DHL, you can find out if they deliver directly to her home town, with a phone call to the Miami rep. They do not work as the state mail, don't worry :) And it shouldn't take more than 3, max 4 working days, I believe, as there is no customs involved. If it comes to an emergency and need to send something with any of them, make sure you talk both with Miami and she with her regional representative, and you should find out all the info, to make sure if it's worth spending the money.

I have never heard that you don't need your NOA-2 .. I would definately include it at the consulate stage, and it will come .. it just might take a while to receive it

Well I was kinda with you on that one... I will still send it when I get it. But, today I just broke down and went to the post office and submitted all the paperwork. I decided my best option was Express Mail. 3-5 days and she will have it at only $39 dollars. If I get the NOA-2... I'll just have to copy it and send the original later. I'm starting to think that this web site makes me more worried than anything haha.

I better stop worrying.

You want to keep the original, you will need it later for AOS. If you include it with the package you send for the other documentation, all the better, but i don't think its worth the cost to send on its own.

I have never heard that ALL Embassy's require it for the interview. I know for a fact Kyiv (Kiev) does not have it listed. Maybe in Manila or others?

I still have no NOA2 hardcopy.

I called USCIS and they told me the general questions like have you moved? no. Have you gone to your local post office and asked them if they have it? uh, ur kidding right? Anyway... then the representative told me I have a couple options. I could request a copy which would cost whatever hundreds of dollars, and that he can put a ticket to investigate this issue. I told him about VJ and how many of us have not gotten our hardcopy of NOA2. I swear these letters just sit in their mail rooms and leave whenever the mail boy decides to stamp them. Anyone have suggestions on how their experience went, and just about how long it should take to get this NOA2? I will refuse to pay even 5 dollars let alone over 100 dollars for a duplicate of the original one they never sent. Sounds like a scam if thats the case.

I am so furious! We also never received a hard copy of the NOA2, and we were approved on May 3rd. I just called and they want to charge $200 for a duplicate copy! How can they justify this? This process costs enough as it is. What a scam!!

jennymc11,

Same boat here, I called USCIS this morning and was notified a case request has been submitted on my behalf, it'll take another 45 days to get an answer, lady actually told me there was no way they didn't send it seeing as how my wife's already here?!?!

But then I saw this thread and used Len & How's procedure for calling and using the RFE selection to get a hold of CSC. Call and they will reprint you one for free immediately. Apparently none of us May 3rd approvals got ours.
