Applying for green card while i130 is pending

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if I can apply for DV Lottery 2020 while my application i 130 is pending? Is there any interference with the application?

DV lottery submission wont affect anything, period. unless you got selected and submitted DS 260, then it will have some impact.

 

though you do know that out of millions of submission, only 50,000 will be selected, and that is a very slim percentage.

 

how long for you to get I130 for? what is your priority date?

Yes, i know about slim percentage but i want to avoid any delays or question "why" because our case is very clear.

 

our priority date is September 21, 2018, we recevied notice after 4 days we sent application.

 

and we hope it will last two years for the whole process, since the current priority date is August 22, 2016.

It is in the DV instructions, FAQs section that this is allowed, always a good idea to read the instructions before submitting !

We won DV with a family based petition in progress, it’s no problem at all. If you win, whichever is faster gets processed first and the other lapses.
