Sealed packet inquiry for K1 visa holders in Qatar

My fiancé is a Philippine citizen working/living in Qatar. He already received his passport with the K1 visa however the sealed packet didn't come with it. No one from the US Consulate in Qatar told him that he needed it to present to the immigration officer at the Port of Entry so he thought he already has everything. Is this the process of the US Consulate in Qatar? I find it quite bizarre that they are separating the two. They're usually released together. Any insight will be MUCH appreciated.

Is your embassy pivot or not ? If the embassy is pivot he will not get the package because everything will be computerized and available at point of entry.

Hi @Ann&James, thank you so much for your response! Wow I didn't know there was such a thing. I don't know if they're pivot or not but I most certainly want to find out. I appreciate your attention to my post! We're so confused

Please read the visa in the passport carefully, if it is electronic it should have an annotation that says "IV documents in CCD"

Hi @Ann&James, I looked at the photo of his visa and the only annotation on there is my full name and the petition number... I can have him check the back portion but it seems highly unlikely that it would be on there 😕

Did you receive any other documents with the passport?

@Ann&James no other documents 😞

You should try to contact the embassy and find out what happened. There should be at least some document to explain if your documents is in ccd. Please if you can post a copy of the visa in the passport.

Hi @Ann&James, we've contacted the embassy and he does need to bring a sealed packet with him. Sigh. My fiancé wouldn't have known if I hadn't told him. As soon as he got his passport he was ready to leave because the embassy made it seem like he was all set as soon as he gets his passport. Talk about setting him up for disaster. Thank you for all your help!!!!
