Congratulations to the ones that got their passports stamped.

I tried to get an infopass appointment to get mine stamped as it has almost been 30 days.

This is what it says for my field office:

Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow.

No luck so far... I'll keep trying. The office in West Palm Beach seems always very busy.

You should check around midnight. They release appointments 14 days ahead and after they appear (usually around midnight), they are gone really fast.

Just keep reloading the page that says “no appointments available “ until at some point you will see the dates appear. There are also apps that can do the reloading for you and send you an email when the page changes.

01-16-2016: AOS package sent

01-09-2017: AOS (I-130 and I-485) granted

10-31-2018: I-751 filed

01-25-2019 NOA received (Extension letter, Biometrics waiver letter)

10-19-2019 Biometrics letter received

10-30-2019 Biometrics to be completed

Thank you; I did try around midnight, kept refreshing etc. but still no luck. Will try again tomorrow though.

Hopefully I won't even need it as they should be sending my letter out soon now, unless they have boxes full of NOA letters somewhere that they're just not sending out 😜

Hi guys,

our NOA1 letter is dated 11/8/2018 issued by Nebraska service center. I have tried to search by case number on case online page and nothing comes up. Why would it be so?

Also, has anyone received biometrics appointment letter from Nebraska yet with a close petition date as ours?

That's a great idea. I don't know why people are worrying so much about the 18 months extension letter when you can get a i551 stamp which is even better and easy to prove your legal status with.

Many offices and employers will doubt when they see the NOA1 "we never heard about this document", but when they see the i551 stamp,  it's always good, no need to explain what is it.

Why do you say they will doubt when they see the NOA1? It doesn't make sense. The USCIS wouldn't like to have everyone going to their offices just for that.

In my case, I don't get a I-551 stamp because the office is 80 miles away from me (2 hours driving, with traffic) and I do believe the NOA1 is a valid document. It clearly says in the NOA1: "Your conditional resident status is extended for 18 months from the expiration date on your Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card. During this extension, you are authorized to work and travel. This notice, presented with your expired Permanent Resident card, is evidence of your status and work authorization."

Don't misrepresent what I said and add words I didn't say. Nobody said that the NOA1 wasn't a valid document. If you have it, good for you.

I'm just encouraging people to find alternative options, especially for those who worried and have a life, plans and work to do. Those who are in emergency with their work, school and travel don't have to stop living for the NOA1. The i551 stamp is out there, get it and move along with your life. And the stamp would help with all of that. That's it!

And yes many employers and even States service centers would have doubts about the NOA1 because there are many ignorants out there who are american citizens,  they never dealt with immigration and have no idea of what is a NOA1, regardless of what it says.

You should read other threads and get the experience of applicants who had hard time renewing their driver's licenses or their work contracts because the people they faced were clueless of this document.

SOME DMV HAVE TO CONTACT THE USCIS FIRST TO VERIFY THAT THIS NOTICE IS NOT FAKE. THEN THEY WOULD RENEW A DRIVER'S LICENSE. SAME WITH EMPLOYERS. And that delays demands and applications.

You said: "The USCIS wouldn't like to have everyone going to their offices just for that." And I say, there is no such rule. There is a right out there, the right to get a stamp when all the requirements are met, and everyone is free to do so, specially those who paid $680. They should be allowed to get at least a stamp to start with. That's the least uscis can do while delaying processing time for 2 years.

I agree with you. I guess I was only thinking about using this letter to enter the country after a trip. I understand what you say and I can relate to that too. I had my I-551 stamp rejected once in the Social Security Office when I went to renew my Social Security Card. And I also had to fight with a company that refused to hire me because they didn't accept my documents.

Either with the stamp or not, I hope nobody feels scared to fight for their rights. There are even federal laws to prevent discrimination in some cases. Usually the agencies' websites have enough information about which documents are required to prove residency status.

In case of employment discrimination here are websites that helped me before:

Ok. Today we received form I-797C “ASC appointment notice” It doesn’t says a word about extending status or something like that, just USCIS address and time. Weren’t we suppose to get something else. And do somebody know if we can go earlier. My wife is pregnant and her due pate is close to appointment time. Thank u for replies.

I tried to make an e-Request for the second time, after calling twice without no NOA in mail, getting worried, but unfortunately here is what the system says :

Existing Inquiry Found

We have located a previously submitted inquiry with confirmation number (TxxxxxxxxxxxxxTSC) for the same issue. You may not submit a new inquiry at this time. You can expect to receive a response to your previous inquiry within 30 days of the date your inquiry was submitted. If you do not receive a response within 30 days, a new inquiry can be submitted at that time or you may call USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY). You will need to provide the inquiry confirmation number when you call.

Am at 44 days today, no bio app nor NOA in the mail. I haven't be lucky with infopass appointment,it says currently no availability. It sucks....

That's crazy when you have rights and Nobody still wants you to enjoy it.  You have to explain and prove it again and again.

Companies should be well informed and trained in immigration to give a chance to legal immigrants who show up with "weird " documents like a 18 month extension letter. Lol! They just don't want to put the work of verifying. They want you to take the burden of proving that it's valid. But how?

How did you deal with the social security administration after they rejected your stamp?

I have a question regarding biometrics.  I see that no one from the Nebraska center has received their appointment notice... which sucks.  My husband and stepson work seasonally March-early December, and choose to go back to their country during the off months.  They still have other family there.  And no one likes the cold...

Anyway.  Those, from other service centers, that have received their appointment notice, how long is it till the appointment?  within a couple weeks?  couple months?

We haven't purchased any airfare in hopes that we'd get the notice around now and the appointment would be in December.  But I'm starting to have my doubts.  I know things move slower this time of year bc of holidays too.

Any info would be great.  My husband keeps asking me like I have a crystal ball.

Thanks!
