Visa approved, passport retained, waiting for PIMS update

Hi everyone,

I went to a visa interview on Friday Sept 29. My visa was approved but the petition was not retrievable via PIMS, so the consular interviewer kept my passport until it is.

I wonder if anyone has been in a similar situation and how long it took for the case to be cleared?

Many thanks!

Yup! All worked through quickly and efficiently, tg :)

Hi FS2439,

I know the post is old, but I'm now in the same situation as you was before, my visa is approved but it can only be issued after PIMS checking. Do you remember how long you waited for the visa to be issued after the interview?

Thanks you!

Hi FS2439,

I went to the O visa stamping on Dec 15. But unfortunately CO were unable to locate my petition approval in their database.

He gave me the green slip 212 G  saying they need to verify on their end although i have original approval notice.

He took my passport , no action required on our end.

Is it related to PIMS issue? or something . How long would it take .

I appreciate your response.

Thanks
