Already have an interview date but scheduled at RIYADH embassy instead of MANILA. PLEASE HELP!

Hi everyone! I hope you could help us out. My husband and I received our interview letter yesterday (he is the Principal applicant- E3 skilled).  However, it was stated that it was scheduled in Riyadh instead of Manila. We were hoping to have it transferred to Manila since it would be easier for us since Im here in the Philippines and my husband can just book a vacation, rather than me traveling all the way to riyadh.

I have read in previous discussions that it can take weeks to months of processing if we opt to have our case transferred. I am looking for someone with similar experience and hoping we can get an advice on what necessary steps we need to take. Please, please help us out.

Thank you!!

Please let me know if I'm wrong...but I thought an E3 visa was for Australian nationals only? Where is he currently living?

He is in Riyadh, and his preference category is E3 -skilled workers. I don’t know much regarding all these, but I guess it’s not for Australians only.

What is his nationality? Did you look at the link I sent? It specifically states:

The E-3 classification applies only to nationals of Australia. You must be coming to the United States solely to perform services in a specialty occupation.

(Some text cut)

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for an E-3 visa, you must demonstrate that you:

  • Are a national of Australia
  • Have a legitimate offer of employment in the United States

Did you mean EB-3? E-3 is a non-immigrant employment visa for Australian nationals. EB-3 is an immigrant visa for skilled workers.

My wife transferred her K-1 case from Riyadh to Manila in 2017. It took about 2 weeks at the time. YMMV.

Hello!

We had received packet 3 in KSA (for the documents to send before they schedule the interview for a K-1 visa). But as far as I'm aware, when you request the transfer doesn't matter so long as it's before you interview.
