I'm well into the process of getting the I-129f filled out and the packet put together.  The resources on this site for doing this (checklists and examples, etc.) have been amazing, so thanks to all who have put those together!  I've a couple questions that someone here might be able to answer:

1) My fiance, while a student in this country from 2012-2014, was issued a social security number.  Is it still a valid number now that she's not in the country or a citizen that I should be putting it into Part 2. Information About Your Beneficiary, Box 3. U.S. Social Security Number?

2) For the 2nd Part of the Applying Process (where it turns over to her side), one of the requirements is to have a Police Certificate for everywhere she's lived for 6 months or more.  Now, she spent 9 months doing missionary work in Turkey, but never was able to get a residency there.  Thus, she would spend 3 months there on a visa, then go back home for 2-3 weeks, rinse and repeat.  Would she even have a Police Certificate from Turkey to get in this case?

Thanks in advance for anyone able to help with these questions!

1) Yes. If someone has ever had a US SSN, it's still valid (and means she'll have one when she gets here, which is one less thing for you to fuss with) and you need to put it on the form.

2) I don't think she needs to get a police certificate if she wasn't a legal resident.

Even people illegally present in a country for the minimum amount of time are required to obtain a police certificate (assuming one is available...not every country can issue one for a tourist or illegal alien).

2) Tricky question..you are considered to have resided in a country if you stayed more than 6+ months . She should have had a visa or a permit and that will allow her to obtain a PC. It's better to be safe than sorry ..9 months with 2-3 weeks out of Turkey every 3 months to me shows she was definitely residing there

If I may ask on her behalf: What is the easiest way to apply for the police certificate?  Does she just go to the country's embassy in her city (Tirana) and request them, or does she need to go online and request them?

See the link IO posted above for instructions obtaining civil documents for Turkey specifically. For any other country, use the left navigation bar on this page to find the country: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html

Ah, my apologies, geowrian . . . I didn't even note the link the first time I read your message.  Thank you for that information.  I'll be sure to find the appropriate areas and send them to her!

Another silly question, if I may?  What happens if you can't put the whole address in that small address line they give you in the document?  There's not a single Albanian address that fits in them at all.  I've been putting the address line into Part 8: Additional Information for that reason.  However, what do you do with the address line?  Do you put as much of it as you can in there and hope they notice it in Part 8?  Do you put something else in the address line that points their attention to Part 8?  Same thing for Question 54 . . . I wrote a supplemental sheet explaining how we met and what our live meetings together have been like on a word document.  Should I put all I can in the space they provide or just put something in that space that points to the supplemental document I provided?

You can use Part 8 (and add more copies of that page as needed), put "See attached sheet" and include a signed sheet listing the addresses, or you can just write them in by hand.

For #54, you can just put "See attached sheet" again. Be sure to sign the supplemental sheet.

You can label the sheets and reference that label in the I-129F response as well...so they don't get confused with which attached sheet is being referenced.

Hello again,

I'm going to take for granted that even tickets and receipts obtained from Albania or Macedonia used as evidence of meetings are considered documents and need to be translated in order to be submitted in the I-129f package . . . Or can these be submitted without worry of translation?
