Courtesy letter for medical, AOS interview coming??

Soo.. 

 

I just received my courtesy letter for the medical, does that mean the sos interview is around the corner?

 

I don't know if i need to go do the medical right now or wait until i actually get the interview scheduled.

 

Any insights?

For my case, the days between I received the courtesy letter and interview notice was about 1 months.

And usually, there's one month time for you to "prepare" after you received the interview notice.

Were you able to make an appointment quick or did you have to wait for an appointment for the medical?

My appointment actually was like 2 weeks after i filed my application (planned to mail them together but there was no opening spot before I mail my application)

 

My exam cost me $320. I heard other members said it was kinda expensive. So I suggest you to call different USCIS authorized clinic (if you have more choices) to have a price compare before you make the appointment.

Ok, so you didnt really wait for the courtesy letter then..

 

Your case is fast though, according to a lot of houston filers, Houston FO is super back logged that people AOSing since March 2017 ard still waiting..

 

I just don't want to waste 400 for a medical that would expire in  year if houston doesn't get me an interview soon..

 

I really hope it is around the corner though

Since i already had my medical exam on hand so when I received the courtesy letter it didnt bother me much.

The dr in the medical center told me they have the service for 'renew' the report if it expired, you can also ask yours if they have this service or not. And also ask them how many days in advance if you want to make an appointment for the medical exam, so you have a concept.

I'm pretty surprised how fast my process went, maybe since Im in Montana there's not much immigrant here so the office is more 'free' than the other offices in other states.

It would be amazing if my case could be half as fast as yours.. 

 

Houston is so backlogged I'm really worried aboir the medical, but i will ask about thay renewal medical if they have it here.

Its a letter uscis send to those that didn't send the medical when AOS packet was sent; because of the backlog, they don't require the medical to be sent along with the original packet and they just send a courtesy letter.

 

I was under the impression that when uscis sends this letter, interview is coming, but that is not the case.. so, nothing to be excited about, unfortunately.

But why would someone send the AOS packet without the medical attached?  I didn’t realize that was allowed. Isn’t a medical required prior to entering US?

I adjusted from work visa, not k1, so i filed concurrently. And it was allowed to submit medical at interview stage because of the back log, hence the courtesy letter

We initially submitted kinda sorta "adoption papers" for instead of birth certificate because thats what was used for the work visa. 

 

 But they sent an rfe for the actual BC and translation. Sent it to them, they got it july 31, my case got an update of "we received your additional documents" then aug 6 i got a "we are ready to schedule your interview" 

 

Now is waiting.. i got a lottle excited about the courtesy letter but i guess that doesn't mean anything other than they got all documents they need..
