I would appreciate if anyone could shed some light.

I have not applied yet, but i was wondering?

1- When applying for N400 online, should it be individually or could it be done as a couple? i mean is there an option (in the application) where you could choose to file one application for 2 people (couple) at one time ( so they can both follow the same timeline together).

2- If we have to file individually, would there be a guarantee that our cases would be processed together ( i mean in terms of time for biometric and interview)

3- If we have to file individually and happens to have the same timeline, on the day of interview, are we processed together or individually? i mean could it be like both to be in the same room at the time of interview, while being interviewed one by one?

I am just trying to understand if we would be processed together since we are a couple or would we be processed independent of each other.

Thanks

N-400 are processed individually. There is no guarantee that one will take longer to get the backgroundcheck back. You probably might not even have the same IO that will interview you.

Where are you getting these ideas from, seriously!? How would two people share one N-400 form?

And chances of matching timelines to the day aren't going to happen, either. There could even be months separating appointments, interviews. Each case is treated as a standalone case.

N400 is processed individually. There is no guarantee of anything but you can try this (personal experience and we lucked out):

Put each application in its own envelop and then put both envelops in a large one and send as one package.  Write a nice cover letter for each application and state that you would like to do biometrics, interview, and oath together if possible.  Thank them in advance.

You will be interviewed separately.  During interview, each of you asks again to have your oath schedule at the same time.  The officers most likely will put a note and try to accommodate.

Well in other countries such as canada, the citizenship application can be filed as a family and as a result the couple start and end the process together. I thought i could have expected something similar in here. And that is where i was getting the ideas from!

Anyway, thanks for alll the inputs. I appreciate you all.
