We have not yet scheduled the interview. We just finished the medical exam, and will work on scheduling the interview next, and will probably schedule it for early August, as the remaining portion of July is busy for us.

I am not planning on attending the interview, though I know my fiance is planning on going to Kyiv the night before and finding a nearly hotel to stay in.

I see @Alabamak1 has responded, and he's been through this and attended the interview if I am not mistaken. He'd be great to help answer your questions!

Hello @AlabamaK1,

We should be having the kiev interview in early October,   did you find the people there pleasant?

Do you know if they accept assets in lieu of income for financial responsibility?

Do you have a significant age difference, and if so  what is your opinion on how they perceive this?

Can you schedule the interview once you get the KEV number?  I believe they are 4-6 weeks out on interviews, is this correct?

How long did yours take, were they interested in evidence of an ongoing relationship?

Regards

yeah, the CO and the ukranian lady, who took our paperwork, where very nice

I don't know that. I assume they do. I showed a I-134 affidaivit of support with tax returns and such. I also had handy bank statements, employment letter and 401K statements. They did not ask for 401k and never saw it, since the I-134 was sufficient they said

No, my wife is only 6 years younger than i am. The age wouldn't be a major problem, unless it is significant like 20+ difference and it's clear there is not much in common and bonafide relationship is barely proven

The interview was short about 10 minutes or less. The bonafide ongoing proof of relationship is absolutely scrutinized. We had plenty of it. 4 clear and established holidays together of almost 2 weeks each and my presence at the interview in Kiev.

Hope this helps out
