Okay.....but.....if you were making 100 grand a year and have been “repositioned....aka....layed off”.....you have already banked 50 grand this year (which is way above the 125% of the poverty guideline......unless you have 6 dependents....and if I remember correctly...you don’t)

Why can he not present his past pay stubs showing he’s already met the requirements?

@geowrian help me get this straight....

If he has already met the minimum requirements why would future income be important?

Apologies.....asked and answered earlier in the thread.

Hi @janet3

Thanks for the replies. I hope that you and yours are well and that this process is treating you ok.

We have the interview next week on the 8th and we realize that due to the nature of USCIS, and their unpredictability, any number of scenarios ranging from tragic to no problem at all could occur. We are just hoping that having our 486 rejected doesn’t get added to our already stressful plate (unemployment, possible eviction, finding a job, moving, child support order modifications, etc).

Thank you @TriloByte. So far so good on my end.....still waiting for interview here.

I truly wish you the very best and I am positive everything will work in your favor.

I appreciate all the feedback from everyone on this thread. What actually happened really didn't align with any of the responses here.

The interview was about 20 minutes long. Towards the end of the interview, she asked if I worked for the place I had submitted with the 485. I said no, that I was laid off, and that was it, she never spoke another word about it. Then she flipped through the paperwork and asked a few other questions unrelated to my employment status and said we were approved.
