When enetering US you are always asked to provide an address you are planing to reside long or short term like hotel etc. (doesn’t matter if it’s tourist visa or fiancé or whatever).

And you can enter through any POE. I entered through JFK but live in Noth Florida ;)

You can enter wherever you want. Doesn’t have to be the city or state where you will be living. You won’t be asked about your travel plans. I entered at Las Vegas, NV. We spent 4 days there at a hotel. We then went to visit family elsewhere and didn’t new year in Seattle. I didn’t reach the address where I would be living until 13 days after I arrived.

Timeline in brief:

You can enter the US in any POE that you wants. Sometimes, they may ask where do you live.

It is a procedure question to check the address for sending green card to you.

Just tell them, and you don't have to prove or explain anything.

If you are not going to live in the address which you claimed in DS-260, you should notify the CBP, so he can update your new address.

Because, the green card and social security card will be delivered to the address in DS-260.

Yup, agree, we entered at SFO and the only question about address asked was whether we wanted to change the address for green card to be sent as it was elsewhere. You can enter wherever is convenient or cheap for you!

you don’t have to prove where you want to live either by the way.you come in on an immigrant visa, you become a LPR as soon as your passport is stamped, you can live anywhere in the US you want to!

Not always asked - if you come in on an immigrant visa, as OP’s profile indicates they will, you don’t have to provide. They will probably check re green card address though. We were not asked for an address.
