Fax Number Issues for Expedited EAD

Hey guys, 

 

I’m hoping someone here might have a similar experience or information on this issue. I got a job offer so I’m trying to expedite my EAD. I put the request in with USCIS over the phone, they gave me a reference number and I received an email requesting me to fax them the supporting documents. Problem is I have been trying to fax them for days at the number they gave me on the email and the request is always failed. I called USCIS and told them my issues and they said the National Benefits Center is having an issue with their fax machine and all I can do is continue to try and see if it works because they are trying to fix the problem. Somehow I find that lame excuse really hard to believe so I was just wondering if anyone on here encountered the same issue and what they did if anything. If maybe there is an alternate number or method for giving them the information they need. Thanks.

I'm afraid there is no alternative but the fax number and Attn #, provided in the e-mail.. Just keep trying - they will fix it, eventually...

I called USCIS again because I thought that was a bull sh@t excuse and when the second tier called me back today they actually gave me the address and said to physically mail my supporting evidence out because they have this issue with the fax machine all the time. Why not tell me that the first time around? I could have gone to the UPS store and mailed this out today but now they’re closed and I have to wait until tomorrow. You’d think the people working for USCIS have brains but really they don’t. 

By the time, the fax number still doesn’t work. I’ve been trying all day today.

Glad you got mailing address!!! 

I'd recommend to write "Original submission: I-765, request to expedite," or something like that on the envelope.

They gave me specific instructions for the fax so I’m just using that plus the address. Thanks. I’ve also found some old threads about Expediting EAD and that you should write your congressman too so since he’s been so good to us this whole process we asked him to look into EAD too. I’ll post back here when I find any more information in case it can help someone.
