As my wife's (US citizen)  income is not enough for sponsoring, we need to include my income.

In the next section, the form asked for last year income, should I add income of the two of us or just her income? The form use "YOU" or "YOUR", not "HOUSEHOLD". So I'm a little confused.

I did not know you could combine income? It was always my understanding that the US citizen had to meet the income requirments on their own.

if the sponsor does not have the required income, she will need to find a co-sponsor, they need to fill out the forms and send them in

It is my understanding that if the applicant is adjusting and has ongoing stable income in the US.. while holding an EAD...  that the applicants income can be considered..  others will correct me if I am wrong...

Well he said that his wife (US citizen) I assumed it was not for an aos, but the op needs ro give more detail on what he is applying for.

The sponsor can combine the intending immigrant's income in the form as long as there is evidence showing the immigrant will keep working thereafter.

hi

and your income where does it come from? have you been legally working in the US? are you here on a work visa?

I'm a PhD student working at the university as a teaching/research assistant. I did file tax over the last 3 years.

Are you currently in the US and adjusting your status.. or overseass and going through consular processing.

If you are overseas, and your income will not continue in the US, the  your wife will need a joint sponsor as your income will not be able to be co sidered.

I am currently residing in the US on F1 visa. I have my income through the university.

Ok.. so I was correct in that you are adjusting your status.. you will need to have documentation showing your income will continue once you adjust, in   order to combine your income on the I864

Yes, I can get a letter from the school confirming my employment.

I'm just concerning about the income part of the form i864, part 6, 24a. Should I add income of the two of us or just my wife's?

You can combine your income with hers.

But what should I fill in for form i864, part 6, 24a? It asked for reported income filed the last 3 years. Should I add my income to that box? or just use hers?
