So my case at the NVC will reach its 8th week this Friday (June 29,2018)

I have been reading that a case can surpass 8 weeks which makes me so nervous and kind of frustrated.

My questions are: What do I do if i get to Friday and they dont have a case number for me? How long is the max wait time to actually get my case number? How long is the AVERAGE wait time after i get my case number for the case to be completely over?

Thank you and sorry for so many questions.

Any constructive responses will be appreciated !

start calling  the NVC if you have not started already if you have, call them more often. Once you get the number you can proceed with the other part of the nvc

do not wait for case number, start getting everything ready to send into the nvc

it took about 3 months  if you have everything prepare you can do  it  in that amount of time or less. The important thing is stay on top of things and call  NVC . you should call them at the different steps of the NVC process. I know I call them 10 or more times. Call them to get case number call them after you send in documents to see if they have receive them also  call them after they receive them to see if they had review them

Mine was also escalated to Supervisor level after the 8 weeks had passed. They gave me another 6 week time-frame from that point on. This week will be week four, so I am at 12 weeks overall waiting with possibly another two.

Lmk if you managed to get your case number tomorrow, not sure if I just have to be pushier on the phone with these guys or what.. :(

Hello guys,

So when I called them on Monday and they said they where gonna move it to a higher up. Then I called again on Tuesday just to check if they sent it and a rep (a rude one btw) told me that she was going to notify her supervisor so the supervisor can send an alert to the Department of State. I called again Tuesday night and another rep told me to give them until Thursday to come up with the number before sending it to a supervisor. I promise I will become that annoying person to call twice even three times a day. Is ridiculous how we pay so much money to get unclarified answers and run arounds to things. If they would just simply say we are going to send it and send it or say we will send it by the end of today i would be ok. But these people cant even transfer information to each other. Im sure everyone is doing the best they can, but its so crazy how we are trying and playing this frustrating waiting game and we cant even get straight answers....:(
