How long currently does it take to receive EAD ?

Met Online March 3, 2016

Became a couple April 2, 2016

First trip to Belgium: June 28 - August 11, 2016

Second trip to Belgium: December 15, 2016 - March 11, 2017

 

K1

Sent in I-129F September 14, 2016

Visa received in hand April 6, 2017

I-129F to K1 in hand: 204 days (6 months 23 days)

 

Arrived into the US May 10, 2017

Married June 2, 2017!!

 

AOS

Sent AOS packet January 19, 2018

Greencard received in mail June 14, 2018

AOS to Greencard in hand: 146 days (4 months 26 days)

It took me 8 months to get the notification that my EAD is in production... not sure how long will it take for the interview.. at least another 8 months!

 I130 approved 10/18/2016 - PD 07/11/2016

My AOS timeline: I-765, I-131, I-485

 

10/12/17:Package sent

10/17/17: Package received

10/24/17: NOA received. Priority date: 10/23/17

10/30/17: Biometric appointment notice

11/13/17: Biometric appointment done

That's ridiculous!! Had you contacted anyone about it during that time? We are thinking of contacting our Congress person (or whoever it is we need to contact) and see what can be done about it.

Yes, I had sent an online request as to why this case was taking longer – never received an answer. Then I scheduled and went to an InfoPass appointment. EAD/AP was approved and came in mail 2 months after the InfoPass appointment. They told us at InfoPass the average Green Card waiting time is now 18 months.

From our experience, they say whatever they want to say to placate whomever they are speaking with. First they told us his EAD would take 3 months, then it was 4, then 5; now they're saying up to 8. He's fine without the GC - he would just like to start working.
