Does he need to see another civil surgeon in the states before filing AOS?

A heads up on these comments. He is not going to have a second date of MMR on the DS-3025. He is done at Knightsbridge and the medical forms are off to the embassy. That ship has sailed. His GP can't add to the official form when the GP gives another MMR on June 22. The only way to get that second MMR  on his immigration record now is have a civil surgeon fill out the vaccination portion of an I-693 in the states.

BUT...his form from Knightsbridge should have the waiver of "insufficient time interval" marked on MMR. That means on that exam date, he couldn't have a second MMR because enough time had not passed (28 days) since the first MMR. It would not be medically appropriate to have #2 the same day. So the waiver gets marked and he is signed off. He can skip the June 22 jab. It has been waived (well it should be marked as such so check the form).

Yeah, I knew in their eyes it would have to be marked by a civil surgeon to count. I'm just going to tell him to get his updated records to bring once he comes over and finds a GP. I was just worried about whether or not USCIS would accept what he was given but looks like we're in the clear so weight off my shoulders.

Oh, gotcha, good info thanks for that. I was a bit too quick in reading OPs post and assumed her fiancé was going back to Knightsbridge and that they would properly complete his vaccination sheet. But I see she probably referred to another GP, and if that's the case, the record needs to be brought to a US civil surgeon and the I-693 will be required as you said. Thanks for picking that up.

@Brittani Sorry, I jumped to conclusions earlier. Read the above :) Also, what is marked in his MMR box? Nothing, or did he get the not sufficient time interval waiver? :)

I believe they put dates that he could get the shot but I know he did mark the first dose.

Liz...if MMR dose 2 got marked as a waiver on his DS-3025 for insufficient time interval, then it is waived forever. He does not need to get it. He was signed off as complete (as medically possible) on that date and that should be accepted.  He should not need to see a civil surgeon at all.

I was just just saying that only a civil surgeon could add to the record now, but that won't be needed because the MMR got excused by a waiver. The same thing would happen if a woman was pregnant on her medical date. They waive MMR and she's done. She doesn't have to wait for delivery and get another shot.

Yes, we just don't know if they actually got that waiver or not. But if they did then that's correct.

I don’t usually barge in with questions to other people’s topics but this is the first time I found sufficient answer on this so please excuse me for asking.

I understand that MMR is two dose, in my case it was measles only, and I specifically asked them if I need the second dose (I was within the timeframe for the second dose) they said 1 or 2 both is ok for adults, especially since most people have it during childhood. However in the end my measles vaccination has only one date.

do you by chance know what is the dosage counts as completed?

*I have a check on the completed

Two dosages, or insufficient time interval ('B') waiver for the second dose. Found this helpful:

The problem is this is not an MMR vaccines this is just for measles. I have immunity to both mumps and rubella. And there is no “B” in the column.

If you don't have a 'B' waiver, and your doctor told you you only need one measles shot, then I would trust your doctor in that case. Maybe when they give you only measles, it's stronger than in the MMR, and that's why you would need two MMRs but not two measles shots.

Hm, I wonder why they would put a 'B' waiver on Td, since he got that one during the medical and only the one is needed. Shouldn't matter though. Everything looks OK imo. I am not an expert though, clearly :D

Haha totally understandable but it always helps to come here and get 2nd, 3rd, etc opinions when in doubt.:D

Agreed! It's always nice to learn new things :) and I feel like this area is where many people get confused (including myself) because the vaccination requirements and the civil surgeon instructions are not entirely clear. My doctor put an 'A' waiver on the influenza which is not correct, but it's difficult to know beforehand how picky the USCIS will be when AOSing with having the correct waiver, or if that just really doesn't matter at all as long as there IS a waiver (or date).

Yeah, this is very confusing and there's not really a clear guideline on this part from them other than they will only accept it from civil surgeons and not regular GP's....luckily this site is very helpful.
