Hello everybody, the 21st of this month made it 2month's that we submitted our k1 package..we have not heard anything yet so i am hoping everything is going fine, but my question is does it mean everything is really going fine? And again, how much more time are we suppose to Wait till the interview stage?how long does this process really last actually?  Thanks.

The I-129F is just the first step. ETA: ~6-8 months. YMMV, and average timelines may change by then. You won't hear anything until you either get an approval, a denial, or an RFE.

After I-129F approval (NOA2), the case is sent to NVC, then to the embassy/consulate. ETA: ~1 month.

From that point onwards, the process is embassy specific. Some want a packet 3 before an interview can be scheduled, others don't. All will require the police certs, medical exam, DS-160, MRV fee paid, etc. before the actual interview.

 

The entire process from I-129F filing to interview is typically 8-10 months right now. This will obviously vary from case to case, and some embassies are faster than others to schedule an interview and/or make a final decision.

You have a long way to go before the interview stage. Like @geowrian stated, you are looking at 8 - 10 months. Even after the interview there could be hold ups. Best you learn to be patient now.

If you filed in February you can go into the February thread and follow whats going on. Several people post updates on how other months are being processed regularly. There's many other February filers waiting with you so the wait does not feel as bad.

Also, you can fill out your timeline as VisaJourney will give you a pretty accurate prediction of when your case will be handled.
