Trying to check my case status online and gets a message "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information."

What to do..tensed :(

Well, aren't you lucky. The January Vermont filers all received their biometrics appointment within two months, whereas California ... crickets.

I guess so :)

Same here. I think their whole system totally crashed. I had the "fee received" message for two months and now it is only the one you quoted.

I called the USCIS customer service number and they provide me with the exact information. I would need to wait for my biometrics letter , that is what they say!

Would be helpful to tamp down expectations a bit..

It is taking several weeks to get biometrics notifications.. followed by the long wait after!

You just filed recently and you are already getting impatient. Seriously, I wouldn't nag USCIS so soon after applying. Be patient, there are so many people here who applied months ago and didn't receive anything yet.

Quick question friends...

i am at the uscis office. Just received the I-797 one year extension for conditional green card. Came to get my passport stamped with I-551 and this lady tells me she will cancel the letter and stamp my passport. Will it be ok for my travel to india in august?

you dont need I-551 stamp since your extension letter is good for 1 year being conditional resident.

Is this letter something that indian embassday would recognize

They should and have them read carefully and make sure you have your 2 year green card ready if in case they ask for it.

I would suggest to print a copy of page 38 of this document and show to them as well if in case they will question you:
