Imagine the worst English fog coupled with the awful smell of burning. Well that's what the sitch is for me here...just going outside has given me an swful headache and I really want to puke!

Forida's on fire cos it's so hot and dry....we need rain desperately. Gov has declared a state of emergency

Yes we sure do need rain.............. I've been here for many many years and never seen it this dry.

Just makes me wonder what will hurricane season bring our way if this keeps going....

As they say " A Dry May, You Will Pay"

I hear that. The grass around here 'crunches' under foot. I do some hiking with friends on the weekends and we went out to the Starkey Park area a few weeks back. Looking on the GPS we were standing on the shore of a small lake. As a result of the recent drought (and pumping) the 'lake' was now little more than a tiny shallow watering hole. Of course this doesn't stop new home construction along the coast. :rolleyes:

The weather report on the radio this morning said we should get some much needed relief on Sunday night. Sure hope so!

A week or so ago it sprinkled a bit here in southern California and a couple of days later my sister told me they had a downpour in Colorado. California is way below the norm for rainfall, at least the southern part.

So the smoke cleared and Mimi returned. She was laying on her chair as usual. It still smelled a bit of fire, but not bad at all...totally tolerable. But she kept her paw over her nose for like 10 mins...when I'd move it away, she'd put it back. I brought her inside, but she ran back to her chair and laid down and put her paw back on her nose.

Needless to say, it was the cutest thing ever.
