What's after NOA2 in Ukraine? [split topic]

Just got our NOA2 today, hurrah!  On the Ukrainian side, we'll go ahead and get the police certificate.

Over here in USA, can I occupy with myself with something in the meantime?

I'm understanding that in a week or two, I should call the NVC to ask for my case number, and then I can get started on the DS-160.

As an FYI to others, even with the form you fill out in order to request it, I don't think people are getting email and text notices on their status updates.  However, if you log into your USCIS account, you can configure those notifications and they'll happen.  Thank goodness I figured this out over the weekend, got my NOA2 texted while Facetiming at lunch, and it was a joyous moment for us!

@Ducker Time to get the financial stuff ready. I-134, tax transcripts, 1040's, w-2's, letter of employment, bank letters and more evidence of relationship. Been there, done that. As soon as your NVC case # is available....call the medical IMO in Kiev and be ready, because it is fast from this point on, till you do AOS. Good luck.

Hi there guys.  Where do we apply for the Police Certificate for my fiancee?  She lives in Kharkov and obviously the embassy is in Kiev.  Does she simply go to a police station and ask for this doc?

There is a government DP Dokument office right in the center of Kharkiv, in the Ave Plaza. They issue police certificates for about $10, depending on how quickly you need them. The whole application takes about 15 minutes.

Things are moving along.  Called the NVC and got the case number last week.  My fiancée picked up a corrected police report today (they misspelled her name but corrected it with no bribes, lol).  We filled out the DS-160 yesterday and paid the application fee today.

Question, if you please, how do I know when the approved paperwork gets sent and/or received by the Kiev embassy?

Secondly, which documents do I need to Fedex over to my fiancée for her to bring with her to the Interview (tax returns, etc.)?

thanks everyone for such a helpful site.

BTW I’m on a layover JFK alone in the airport tonight after a fun visit to Ukraine last week—we saw Romany/gypsies sing and dance in the village, among other adventures.

you have to go to the ceac website and follow your case. with the case # you can tell that it got to the embassy and it says "ready".

None. I did that also and unfortunately it could be delayed. Send everything per email. Emailed stuff is all good enough. I happened to to be going for her interview also and we had everything printed out from my emails.

OK thanks, checking the CEAC website now daily.

@Alabamak1 when you say, "send everything" do you mean copies of all the stuff that I submitted for the I-129F?  Just trying to decide what to send with her to the interview.  I'd love to be there for that part, but not sure if that's going to be possible or not just yet.

We saw these performers in the Ivana Kupala festival in the village of Merefa, they were fantastic!  There were also Romany in the crowd and it was fun to watch them dance.

^_^ I do understand.  My fiancee's mom calls them "chavella" which is apparently the Russian n-word for gypsies, lol.

One last question, on ustraveldocs.com, do I need to enter my fee payment info now, or wait for receipt of the NVC-sent package at the Kyiv embassy?

Hi, I'm February filer and I hope to receive NOA2 in a month or so, I read all information which is written here but still have a few questions.😅🙄

Maybe someone could clarify the next steps after NOA2?
1) After 1.5-2 weeks my fiance could call to NVC to get the case #.
Could you please tell me the contact details (number) of NVC and what did you tell them (just asked about # and they just answered or did you tell another reason why did you need #?).
2) Will I be able to to schedule medical exam and fill out DS-160 form knowing NVC case #? Or should I wait till case status will be "ready"?
3) After case status is "ready" I can pay visa fee and schedule interview.

Could you please correct me if I'm wrong? 🙏🏻

Sorry, what's the max allowable timeframe between the medical appointment and the interview date?   We'll go ahead with this step as recommended if there's no risk of invalidating it.

FYI It's been 12 days since we got a case number. but https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/ still says "At NVC."
