N-400 application 10/14/2018

Biometrics  11/05/2018

Interview 05/13/2019

Approval 05/13/2019

Oath  ???  (Shows Estimated Wait time of 4 months)

Interviewed and passed today at the SA USCIS Field Office.  Immigration Officer Brigid Oman. It's over but from the recount of happenings the Officer is just a rude, ignorant individual. If you draw this woman be prepared to have her exasperate about how little time there is, how you're wasting her time (spouse was called in just shy of 2 hours past the scheduled appointment time so who is wasting who's time?), lots of fast speaking and complaining if you ask her to repeat a question due to her rapid speech. The actual immigration test portion was very easy. The additional 30 or so questions regarding drug use, illegal activities, etc etc, is what eats up time. The demeaning and derogatory language used by the USCIS officer that is off-putting and puts shame to the organization.

Had my interview yesterday, I was approved.

My appt. was at 10:15 AM, and my number was called at 11:10 AM. We were in the large waiting room and numbers were being called randomly, I assumed based on what you were there for.

My IO was a little abrupt at the beginning, non-smiling, but at the end it was much more relaxed. From the Quick Civics Lesson guide I was given at Biometrics, I was asked questions 7, 33, 51, 59, 88 and 97. Then it was the additional questions from my application, etc. I was done in less than 20 minutes.

She advised that my Oath will take up to 120 days to schedule.

Looks like I could be out of the norm for the SA USCIS field office. Just received notice that the oath has been scheduled 10 days after the interview and approval. I will update when I get the actual oath date but I'm assuming it will be sometime in mid-late June as they probably don't schedule these things months out.

I checked my status after I saw your post and I had the same message "We scheduled your naturalization ceremony".

I am just waiting for the details for the date and location.

I took one-month exactly to get the notification after the interview(I changed my name ### well).

This will have taken 243 days (8 months on the dot) to complete the Naturalization process. Surprised at how quickly we went from Interview to Ceremony, just 1 month on the nose. Along those lines this entire process from date of marriage to the Oath ceremony will encompass exactly 6 years to the day.

@RaginKhmer, will her Oath be in San Antonio?

I'm only a week or two behind you with everything, had & passed my interview on the 20th. The IO did advise of a possible 120 day wait for the Oath to be scheduled, she even made a face when she said it. My Oath will be in Corpus Christi.

Also, congratulations!

Please can you share entire experience?

Sure I can. I arrived the requisite 30 mins before my appointment time. The line to get in was a bit crowded so the security officer sent all family members into the waiting room so that only those with appointment letters could be in line. The check in process was easy and a number was stapled to my notice. As I think is well established by now the number system does not make sense and numbers were seemingly called at random. I was called in after they seemingly had called every number around mine.

The actual interview was as I said super easy. I was asked how i met my wife and after explaining how we both had disabilities and met through a group for people with our disability the officer seemed at ease and just went through the motions. We also spent considerable time on her various tech problems after she learned i work for a tech company. When she went into the test portion it was like a drone reading off questions and going through the motions.

Hi y'all! I've been following this forum throughout my process and so I wanted to share my experience with you. I've had my green card for about 6 yrs before I finally applied for my citizenship. The process itself was fairly short actually.

- Applied November 12th, 2018

- Notice of biometrics scheduling on November 16th

- Completed my biometrics on December 7th

- Notice of interview scheduling on April 15th

- Attended interview on May 23rd

- Approved application on May 23rd

- Notice of oath ceremony scheduling on May 29th

The immigration officer mentioned that my oath ceremony might be scheduled in Austin instead of San Antonio so we'll see.. I'll keep you guys posted!

Good luck to everyone going through the process!  :)

I just received notice that my oath is scheduled so here is my timeline for anyone curious.

I applied through the 3 year rule early Aug 2018., I also applied for the conditional gc removal earlier and at time of filing of N400 I was still waiting for the condition to be lifted.

In parallel I also had a pending I751 (green card conditional removal)

July 13th 2017 filed for GC condition removal.

Got a 12 months extension which was extended again to 18 months (never received any official notice of extension, just a copy).

Close to expiry of 18 month notice scheduled infoPASS to get passport stamped (early March 2019 got my passport stamped I think the 18 month notice was set to expire on the 27th of March 2019), few days later received N400 interview notice.

Here is my N400 timeline:

Aug 16 2018 - account acceptance

Aug 18 2018 - biometrics notice for Sep 4th 2018

March 7th 2019 - interview scheduled for April 11th 2019

April 11th 2019 - Passed interview and automatically will be granted permanent resident status

(there after it was less than 2 weeks where I was notified of permanent resident status, and received the 10 year card in the mail within 2 weeks).

April 29th 2019 - Notice of approval and in line for oath

May 29th 2019 - Scheduled for oath (waiting for letter)

May 30th 2019 - Received letter through the website, ceremony set for June 13th (coincidentally a very special day in my life :) )

Wahooo! So now 2 weeks from now I will be an American Citizen!

Good luck all, I hope this helped.
