I did not know this but it doesn't surprise me.  Nothing good can come from an overpowering Government entity with totalitarian / Stalinists thinking!  The philosophy at CFO is anti-freedom!

And that's part of their strategy I think.  Wear em down, frustrate em, make em quit and go home.   Visas are typically good for 3-6 months once issued.

When I had my CFO a few years ago, the counselor or whatever you call it, shared that once she had a girl come to CFO for 6 months to have counseling. I remember vaguely the situation, but I think the petitioner was convicted of a serious crime. As to whether they accommodated the Visa expiration date in those six months of counseling session, I do not know.

All that happened was that they saw a weakness and exploited it.  For some reason they felt that she didn't know all she needed tp know about you.  There are a lot of people using filipinas as slaves all over the world.  If they thought that she was heading into an unhealthy situation they would stop her to see how things fall out.  If it is a true relationship you have nothing to worry about.  How both of you react to their questions will answer all their questions.

Yes, they probably do have too much power but they also have years of proof of filipinas being abused by their "partners".

I would suggest that you relax and allow her to relax.  If it is truly love that will be seen by everybody.  If it is something else, they have saved her.  It is a game but it is their game.  Please relax and let her know that you love her.  Complaining and getting upset will not help her.  Show her love and support and all will be fine.  Show your anger and being abusive will only strengthen their resolve to keep you apart.

I guess you have to decide if stirring the pot works in the best interest of your relationship.  They are not attacking you personally.  They have seen something that makes them question the relationship.  It is up to you to prove them right or prove them wrong.

I agree that sometimes we have to decide which battles we want to take on.  This battle can impact more than just you.

I wish you the best but sometimes it is better not to have the last word in an argument.  CFO isn't going anywhere and sometimes it is easier to work with them and not against them.

Last year they had something like 10,000 US visas approved just from the Philippines.  That is one of the largest groups in the world.  It doesn't seem like they are actively trying to stop immigration.

I have seen local banks trying to sign up people to get credit cards at CFO, back around 2007 time frame.

I have seen SSI years ago (15 years ago) tell the applicants they need to send money back to the Philppines for their social security.

Ya that was during the PRISM/St. Mary's days .. doubt they do that now.

CFO is just a game.  You got to learn the game and the rules of the games to be able to win the game.

For most it is just a seminar and pay, it seems lately we have a couple who have ran into issues, and it seems as if it is not contained to Manila.

I would wear down CFO with so many visit they run out of questions to ask or documents to provide.

I have never heard of anyone getting a lawyer to deal with CFO,  this might be a genius move since most people in Philippine are conditioned to fear authority figures.

It's getting extremely interesting.   Cannot disclose at this time but let's say fiance and I both sleeping better now.  The lengths this CFO office will go blows my mind.  They are far far outside their scope !  Bullying in the guise of counseling !!

My fiancé is smart but not overly aggressive.  She's somewhat passive and very sweet.   Perhaps weak on the surface.   The problem lies in my past relationship with a Filipina who came here in 2016, took a lot of my money and left me.   I was scammed and she lied and slandered me heavily to the CFO in order to justify her actions.  We will definitely have the last word in this argument.    I would suspect from the meeting that CFO doesn't want to be pushed into court and be exposed for their tactics.    A certificate is coming now!

That is good news, I was a little skeptical at first when you said you were getting a lawyer (like being overkill), but glad to hear it worked! Maybe they will think twice now about harassing couples who have legitimate claims, especially with the visa being approved!

What I've seen and witnessed the last two weeks.....you'd understand why I got a lawyer.
