Hubs and I spent a year apart because not working and not being able to travel was something I could not do.  We visited of course.

Forms for AOS

I-130

I-130A

I-765

I-131

I-485

I-864

also needed is the medical by a civil surgeon and the I-693.

Is there someone in Canada that has the ability to send her documents she may need that may still be in Canada? How about close up any loose ends on her part?

She has her passport and driver license with her. Her father is still in Canada. Can you think of any documents she needs but can’t get it unless she goes back to Canada? Thanks

Look through the instructions for all the forms and make sure you have all the documents required.  Treat each form as if you were filing it by itself and attach documents needed, even if you've already included it with another form.  You may want to look at this after the move, since you won't be filing until then.

You can certainly start gathering paperwork now, even if you don't file until after your move. It took me a few weeks to get everything together - especially if you have to get her birth certificate mailed, you'll have to wait for the marriage certificate, etc.

One more thing. If I marry my Canadian girlfriend. Will my employers benefits extend to her? She won’t have a ssn right away. Thank you.

That's a question for your employer to answer, presumably their HR department. An SSN is not required for insurance purposes, although you may have to challenge your HR department on that item if they state otherwise.

I agree it may be hard... I would contact your HR department for sure.

Oh so that means you have a SSN. Hmmm. This would be challenging. Maybe I’ll continue to renew the patriot insurance. But that’s a travel insurance.

Insurance companies will usually request an SSN, and may require it for any online forms, but they should not actually require it if you push the issue. Usually this can be done with your HR department or with the insurance company directly (i.e. via phone).

Ya because when I came here I was on a k1 visa and I had an i94 for entering usa and that allowed me to get an ssn.
