Our anniversary is tomorrow , I had ordered for delivery to my fiancée , flowers, candy , and champagne . I placed the order last Saturday.

Due to the terrible shopping mall fire in Russia, will me sending celebratory items to my fiancée seem insenstive to the Russian people ?  My fiancée was very shaken by this terrible tragedy and now I’m thinking this might not be a good idea to send her these items for us to celebrate our anniversary .

Some cultures have different ways of dealing with national tragedy , maybe I’m overthinking this but would like to hear from a Russian point of view .

Send a donation to a victim's fund, and let your fiance know you did it?

If you want to go that route to impress her it’s better to do it another way. Tell her you would like to make a donation to victims fund and ask her how and where to send it. See what she says, she might help you.  She will be more impressed rather then you sending money and saying I did it.....

Russia has officially declared March 28 as a day of mourning for the tragedy .

This is the same day as our anniversary and my flower and candy delivery to my fiancée .

Should I cancel/postpone the delivery ?

No....Go as planned. Besides, you planned everything before all of this happened. It’s not about the country, it’s about you and her. She will appreciate it.

I agree, this is about the two of you despite the tragedy in Kemerovo.  She will appreciate that you are thinking about her.
