hai, i applied for a green card lottery, and then applied for a visit visa to US - B1/B2, unfortunately my visit visa application was rejected. I wonder was it because of my green card application??? Now i want to cancel my green card application and try again to get a visit visa , as i dont want to actually immigrate

There is no restriction on trying again for a b2 visa. Approval depends on many factors, including nationality, and the strength of ties to that country. If nothing significant has changed since your previous application, I wouldn't expect an approval the next time. Bear in mind all previous applications are part of the record that would not be deleted.

Just participating in the DV lottery is not a GC application. Your visa rejection has nothing to do with the DV lottery. Only if your are selected in the lottery and you start the visa processing, then it might affect the visitor visa outcome. You are denied a visa implies the CO assumed you will stay in the US and not return back. Unless your circumstances have changed, you will possibly be denied again. If you share lil bit about your info, then may be people here can guide you more.

More likely it was because of a lack of ties to your home country. What country are you from and what ties do you have?

Withdrawing from the lottery will not change that. If anything it just makes it look like you are desperate to go to the US one way or another, even more reason for another denial next time.
