St. Luke's TB procedures

My Fiance had to do the sputum test because they see something little white dot in the left lung so she did the three day sputum test and was negative, but something different is happening here they Doctor tells her to go to a pulmonary Doctor and bring paperwork from St. Luke's and when he gives her medical certificate after her 1 week of antibiotics/treatment send certificate email to Doctor at St. Luke's hospital. So she completes this and emails certificate back to Doctor at St. Luke's hospital, and then they call her to go back after this (total time lapse 5 weeks). So I do not understand something is different here it seems, I know you do sputum test first then wait which was negative, but then you wait  7 to 8 weeks for culture to grow...no phone call all is good they say, if you get called back it is bad news so to speak. But here lies the strange difference,  why they tell her to go to a Pulmonary doctor and complete and send certificate back in email and then have her come back when this is completed to see the doctor? Could it be some other news? maybe not tb but some other treatable non-threatening problem and then get clearance? I know of a friend of hers they did something similar call her after 5 weeks but not to come back just to tell her by phone her medical extended because she has something else growing in the lab culture but it is not TB and she have treatment extension couple weeks and then she  has medical plan to follow up in the US and they allow her to get and approve the K-1 fiance visa. Has anyone else have similar story of being told to go to another Pulmonary Doctor and get a certificate and then call them back before the 7 or 8 weeks? Please let me know, very strange she will go this Monday to talk with doctor back at St. Lukes.

Sounds like what they saw in the extra did not give the TB concerns, but instead concerns about something else.   Nothing being a doctor one can only wait for the results to be shared.

Hope all turns out well.

Every case is different. The fact that a medical establishment is recommending you do something, and their experience is seeing thousands of visa applicants lends me to believe they are progressing on the side of caution for her health. I wouldn't second guess them at this point in the process. Adhere to their advice and let's see where this will go. It just might be her life that is saved or it might be nothing.

I wish you the best.

Yes, not second guessing just it seems that the paperwork pointed in the direction to the other doctor in the area of puenmonia but she too medication for 1 week 2 x a day and she got medical certificate and emailed it back to the Doctor at St. Luke's so now she got the phone call to go back and evaluation for pulmonary, so I don't know if this backed up what they were suspecting and not TB and they get her medical certificate of treatment and now they want to x-ray again....just don't no Hoping for the best.
