Detroit N400 filers

Made it back to the US yesterday, hardly had any sleep, but was able to get paperwork together. Heading to Detroit just before 10 am. I’m struggling to stay calm and feel panicky. My case has been complicated and I hope I’m not going to be asked too many questions about my first abusive marriage ( as I obtained my GC through VAWA and having been in removal

proceedings previously)  as it’s upsetting. Keep thinking what happens if I’m denied ?

Ok just had my interview. I passed the civics / English test no problem. I go the first 6 correct. The officer talked about the Oath Ceremony and what name I wanted on the certificate. Answered all questions and made.some amendments. She said she couldn’t make a decision as she hadn’t read through all of my file yet, but she would do so this evening and I’ll get a letter in the post. So frustrating.

Don’t sweat it even though I know it can be frustrating.  Think positive thoughts!

It is weird. I thought they are suppose to go through your file before interview so that they can clarify any questions they may have.

That is a great sign.  Sort of look at it as administrative processing.  I remember back when my wife and I were interviewed for her AOS, no decision at the interview, but the IO instructed us about the ROC needed in 2 years.  We took that as a good sign and sure enough, she was approved a few days later.

She said it was something to do with being the last person of the day and hadn’t had time. Not like I was going to argue with her haha. She even got me to sign my new name how I want it on  

my certificate.

I haven’t got a final decision yet, but she told me the Ceremony would be in Grand Rapids as I live on the West Side. I feel exhausted as I only got home from England yesterday afternoon. Haven’t unpacked yet !!
