DS-160 - Can't Start An Application

Hi all,

 

I'm having trouble starting my first application. I go to this page https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/default.aspx -- and enter the security code. Then I choose the location and before I can do anything else, it redirects me to the below screenshot. I've tried this in Chrome, IE and Firefox to no avail. Can anybody try to start an application and see if this is a universal problem or if I'm the only one? I also tried on my phone and the same thing happens.

I just tried on my phone and was able to.

 

I did:

put country first

put security code then

and push "start an application"

 

And it worked.

 

maybe clear the cookies and the history of the browser?

Thanks Naes. Just went back and tried again and it worked. Maybe I just picked an hour they were doing maintenance or something haha

I am helping my friend apply for a visa and we are having the same issue. I'm planning on trying again later, but just wanted to know if anyone else is having this issue today.

i have the same problem and i have not been able to start my application. I have tried it with google chrome, firefox and safari and all the results are the same. do they close the web page for some reason or does anyone know why

I'm having the same issue. Have tried in Mac and Windows. Edge, IE11, Firefox and Chrome and nothing. Do the have a working schedule?

Try using Google search to get help on this topic.

Can not start an application. The "Start an application" and "Upload and Application" are not active.

No, I am still having the same issue as well

If all of you having the same issue, it is probably not related to any of you or your browsers.

 

It can be a maintenance of some sort, or any other possibility to even their systems getting updated etc.

 

I suggest waiting for a day and try again.

I am not sure if any of you chose the country but I chose the country first and it works.

 

Chose country first then enter the code, it should be active with that (I used firefox)

 

if still doesnt work, try cleaning your web history and/or cookies.
