Are you looking to marry in the Phillipines? 

 

If you are not a US citizen as well and you applied for the divorce it can’t be recognized by the Philippine government.

 

You might be able to get it annulled in the Philippines but both annulment and divorce recognition are time consuming and costly. 

 

Also I asked that your thread be moved to the Philippines sub forum so you can get specific advice on how to go through the legal process.

DEPENDS.  Where you married to a Filipino or a foreigner?  If married to a foreigner then who initiated the divorce is a factor.  The foreigner must have initiated the divorce for it to be recognized in the Philippines.  If you initiated the divorce it can not be recognized in the Philippines.

 

If the basics are correct for the divorce to be accepted in the Philippines, the next step is filing through RTC for recognition of the divorce.

 

It is always more fun in the Philippines.  :lol:
