The US Embassy has called and said they want my husband to have a Psychiatric Evaluation. This is after his interview and after already wanting documents that we’ve already returned. Is this something new? I didn’t see this on the list of steps to be taken when he was applying for his Visa. Does anyone have any answers on this?? Also when I checked his Visa status it said “Ready “. Please help!!

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

They would not ask for a psych evaluation without telling you which doctor to go to. There are only a few doctors that work with them. Maybe try calling the doctor that did your physical and ask them if they've heard of such thing.

I was wrong about the Embassy calling. It was the Medical Clinic that called. They actually talked to my husbands sister because we don’t have a Nicaragua phone.  The Medical Clinic wants my husband to call them back. Does the Embassy contact the Medical Clinic to have them contact us? Or would the Embassy usually contact my husband First for this?

It is hard to know without knowing why they are calling.
